How To Prepare Frozen Brussel Sprouts

In summary, we’ll be roasting frozen Brussel sprouts.

Can you roast frozen Brussel sprouts? Yes, you can, and I will show you how in a bit how to.

The art of baking frozen Brussel sprouts isn’t as difficult as it seems.

The first thing to do is grab a bowl and throw in sprouts, alongside oil, pepper, and salt. Then, in a large pan, spread the sprouts on the pan. Preferably, do so in a single layer format.

Get your oven ready, then place the large pan containing the sprouts inside the oven, roast the sprouts, and take them out when they become soft to cut.

My daughter loves doing this part, cut the sprouts in half, and then add more salt and oil. Basically, the salt and oil need to touch the newly sliced areas. After you must have added oil and salt you need to spread the sprouts in a single layer format again on the large pan.

Throw the large pan back in the oven and this time roast for about 15 minutes, if timed correctly, your sprouts should now have a golden color.

Now comes the final part, you need to transfer your sprouts to the broiler, simply place the pan under the broiler and let it broil each side for a few minutes.

Cooking Frozen Brussel Sprouts: Best Oil To Use

I’d let you choose whichever oil you want to use. But if you wanted my opinion, here are 3 of the best you can use;

  • Ghee
  • Avocado oil
  • Olive oil

These options are the best when looking for low carb oils. Although, I preferred Olive oil.

Best Way To Cook Frozen Brussel Sprouts | Tips You Must Follow

This is like a summary of what I have already said, I am including this so you don’t make any silly mistakes, the slightest mistake could prove fatal.

  • Make sure you roast the sprouts while there are frozen, don’t thaw! This will make them look very awkward, trust me. I made that mistake a couple of times and you shouldn’t do the same.
  • After roasting them for about 10 minutes make sure you cut them in half. It will be difficult to cut them in half after when they are frozen.
  • In other to completely get rid of moisture, you need to roast them at a very high temperature. Do not go over the top.
  • Want to give them that perfect brown color and flavor, you must broil them at the end.
