You can either crisp it in a skillet or bake it on parchment or a Silpat in an oven.

It has to be done swiftly so you can shape it while it is still flexible. What you should do is to place it as if you want to wrap it over a spoon or a dowel.

Ingredients

  • 9 oz. pre-shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  • Heat the oven to about 375 ℉. This should be approximately 191 degrees Celsius. Use parchment paper to line the pans or baking sheet.
  • You can place the cheese to form circles on the baking sheet. Let the thickness be even all through to avoid any inconsistency. Make a sprinkle with cumin powder and chili.
  • Bake this for about 7 to 8 minutes. When you start to see the edges brown, then it should be ready to bring out.
  • Set up the wooden spoon to be ready to take on the cheese as it comes out. Let it sit horizontally across two glasses.
  • This is the time to take the pans out of the oven. This should stay out for about 30 seconds.
  • Lift the cheese using a spatula and hang on the wooden spoon. This should last there till it is hard enough and this could be approximately 5 minutes.

Notes

  • If you are having problems knowing when it’s ready, use this tip. When you start to see little holes on the surface and brown edges, this means it’s time to bring it out.
