This Instant pot short ribs recipe I am about to show you is one of my favorites. If you do not have a pressure cooker, I’d suggest you start making plans for one. Another thing I’d suggest is, use boneless ribs. That way, you don’t have to deal with bones while trying to devour the instant pot beef ribs.

If you already have bone-in ribs, you can use that too, it will work, I am considering your comfort here, that’s why I said you should use boneless short ribs.

Just like any type of meat, you will need to season it first before doing any other thing. So, get some pepper and salt for seasoning. Don’t use too small an amount and don’t use too much. Seasoning your short ribs is essential if you want to have meat with flavor.

You don’t need to throw in all the short ribs in at once, if you do this they’ll steam, and we want them to brown and not steam. So, add the short ribs in batches. Only remove the short ribs when you have gotten a brown crust.

Next up, fry the garlic with oil inside the instant pot, do this for just a minute, nothing more, nothing less.

In your pressure cooker, add some coconut aminos and beef broth while deglazing with a turning stick. Add the bay leaf and short ribs back in the pressure cooker. 

Now, it’s time to stick back and simply do nothing, allow the pressure cooker to cook for 50 minutes if you are cooking bone-in short ribs and 40 minutes if you are cooking boneless short ribs.

Complete this process and you’ll have an amazingly outstanding instant pot braised short ribs.

Can I Make Instant Pot Short Ribs Ahead?

Yes, you can. Rumor has it that your instant pot short ribs taste better with time. Personally, I haven’t tried this before, but I got to know this from my husband’s wife. 

However, be sure to preserve your short ribs in the fridge if not they might go bad, and that brings us to the next heading.

Can I Store Short Ribs In A Freezer?

It’s meat and YES! You can. If you just finished preparing it, make sure it goes from hot to normal temperature before taking it to the fridge. The next step would be to place it inside a dish or container that’ll not toxify it in any way. 

Make sure the short ribs are covered in the cooking liquid, then place it in your freezer. When you want to eat it, simply reheat and eat.

Instant pot short ribs recipe with 5 major ingredients, it has about 200-kilo calories and takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to cook. 

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper.

  • ¼ cup of coconut aminos.

  • 6 cloves of garlic.

  • 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder(unflavoured).

  • 2 teaspoons of salt.

  • 2 pounds of boneless short ribs beef.

  • 1 tablespoon of Olive oil.

  • 1 cup of beef broth.

  • 2 dried bay leaves.

Directions

  • Season the short rib thoroughly with the salt and pepper.
  • Add oil to the instant pot and let it heat up. (saute on high).
  • Add the short ribs to the instant pot and sear the sides of the short ribs for about 4-6 minutes per side until both sides turn brown. (don’t add all the short ribs at once).
  • Remove the short ribs from the instant pot. 
  • Add garlic and fry it for about a minute.
  • Add the beef broth and coconut aminos to the instant pot.
  • Using a turning stick, stir and turn until there is nothing at the bottom of the instant pot.
  • Add the short ribs and bay leaves into the pot. 
  • Seal the pot and allow it to cook for 40 minutes. 
  • Make the instant pot to release pressure naturally for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
